Merry Christmas! My sister and I started the day opening gifts at our place before we headed to Dad's house for lunch and more gifts. My boyfriend was able to spend the day with me, and I really enjoyed our first of many Christmases together. After a delicious meal, we made our way to my Mom's mom's house for a chinese auction gift exchange. It was a lot of fun - lots of swaps and some really nice things. I ended up with Tim's coffee, hot chocolate, travel mug, and gift card. I really enjoy seeing my family now that I live back in the city! I was speaking with my uncle as we were leaving, and he encouraged me to start a blog, a place to share my ideas on poetry, neuroscience, life, etc - I have been writing for years, and maybe it's time I post some it somewhere? We then had an amazing turkey dinner, and another gift opening with Dad's side of the family. Quotes - 'Anything becomes chantable after a few beers,' 'Look! He's riding a horse,' 'Yes. Let's talk about this.' I had a great day, and am looking forward to 2009. I am four months into my doctorate, and can't wait to see what lies ahead.
